Internship Description: Edible Columbus is seeking a communications intern to handle multiple aspects of our website content management system, external communications, and our monthly events web page. We are looking for an intern with experience working with social media strategies and content management systems. The potential candidate should also have significant experience with visualizing information and designing consistent, clean and compelling content. As a member of Edible Communities, we follow certain guidelines, so the said intern must be able to work within a pre-determined structure. The internship will include updating our web pages on a weekly basis; developing and implementing social media strategies; replying to emails and corresponding directly with readers; researching food and farming events, lectures, conferences, and markets in the Central Ohio region and Ohio and posting on our website; and assisting with mailing and distribution efforts when necessary.
Qualifications: The intern candidate must possess an interest in local, seasonal foods and sustainable agriculture. They must have experience working with social media and content management systems for websites as well as examples of their own designs and development of original websites. Experience in graphic design and meticulous, excellent written and verbal communication skills are also a must. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines as well as work collaboratively with staff is essential.
The internship will require 3-5 hours per week. For questions and more details on the application process, please contact the editor, Colleen Leonardi at colleen@ediblecolumbus.com.
