Events Marketing Internship Position Description - 2011
Position Summary:
The Event Marketing co-op /internship position at Cox Media Group Ohio is designed to provide hands-on experience that will be mutually beneficial for both the co-op/intern and the organization. The co-op/Internship position is designed to challenge students and provide them with practical experience in the marketing and special events environment within the media industry.

Cox Media Group Ohio has a terrific ground floor opportunity to break into the marketing field. This is an ideal position for marketing major who is looking for real world experience with a major media organization.

Job Responsibilities:
•Work with the Event Marketing team to assist in the implementation of internal and external events, company promotions and community partnerships.
•Position will encompass a variety of tasks, from placement of ads in our publications/products to project work, department support, and street-team (word-of-mouth) marketing of messages
•Take project lead on assigned projects/community events, coordinating and implementing a variety of tasks from initiation to completion such as ads, signage, volunteers, premiums, etc.
•Communicate with customers and peers
•Attend community marketing events and weekend/evening work as required

Minimum Qualifications:
•Working towards completion of a college degree program in business, marketing or communication
•Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
•Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
•Creative thinker
•Experience in event planning preferred, but not essential
•Team player with high attention to detail and follow-through
•Initiative and proactive thinking
•Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment meeting deadlines
•Ability to work a flexible schedule and to work on weekends/evenings as needed
•3.0 GPA
