The application process for the 2010 Association of Women in Sports Media Internship/Scholarship program is officially open. The deadline to apply is October 31.
Full-time female students currently enrolled in college are eligible to apply for the internships. Applicants do not need to be members of AWSM to apply.
Since 1990, AWSM has placed about 100 female college students interested in sports media careers in paid internships with employers such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN, USA Track & Field and some of the country’s most respected daily newspapers. Internships are offered in print, online, media relations as well as broadcast.

Ares Sportswear, a mail order sportswear company based in Hilliard, is looking for an energetic, motivated and highly organized individual to join its fast-paced marketing department as an intern part time. The intern will gain hands-on experience by aiding in catalog, advertisement, postcard and flier production, Web site maintenance, e-mail marketing and search engine marketing. Westerville Visitors & Convention Bureau is seeking one qualified intern each quarter to work approximately 6-8 unpaid hours per week around his or her school schedule. The WVCB office is within walking distance of the Otterbein Campus and provides valuable services for Westerville visitors and residents alike.
Role: The intern will report directly to the WVCB’s Coordinator. This position may be held for one, two or three quarters, based on the needs of the student(s). (Contact your advisor to determine the number of hours needed to earn credits.)
Responsibilities: Intern(s) will assist in the coordination and marketing of Bureau-sponsored events; dissemination of information about Westerville attractions and events, website upkeep and overall operations of the Bureau. Minimal evening and/or weekend hours will be required.
Qualifications: Interns are expected to dress in a clean, business/casual manner; operate typical office equipment; have a basic understanding of and proficiency in Windows 98 through XP; possess professional telephone etiquette and great interpersonal skills; be able to handle direction and correction; will possess creative energy and a desire to learn new skills and perform well.

Job Description:
Candidates must be able to work independently and dedicate 16 hours per week to the internship. The intern will be paid $9 per hour or a student may apply with their college for the internship to count towards college credit (if applicable). The internship office is located downtown and parking for the intern will be reimbursed. Some travel outside of the office will be required. The Art Award Intern will report directly to AICUO’s Director of Public Relations.

Plan and execute all art award related activities such as the spring award ceremony and reception and the student artists educational panel
Manage edits to and functionality of the AICUO Award Web site (www.AICUOArtAward.com)
Secure funding for the AICUO Award for Excellence in the Visual Arts using various current and potential sponsors
Research and complete grant applications to support the competition
Research and secure the two panels of judges for the AICUO Award
Create surveys for judges to assess the effectiveness of the art award program
