The office of Congresswoman Joyce Beatty is looking to find motivated students for her Columbus fall internship program. The Columbus internship program is designed to provide a hands-on educational work experience. We are looking for students of all backgrounds and majors to apply. Examples of work assignments include: attend meetings, sort mail, assist with constituent work, filing, updating databases, research on behalf of staff, answering phones, and drafting press releases. Fall 2013 Public Relations Internship

The Ohio Society of CPAs

Fall 2013

 

Are you in the market to gain solid writing and real-world communications experience? The Ohio Society of CPAs, a nationally recognized professional organization serving certified public accountants, is accepting resumes for a paid internship of up to 20 hours per week.

 

We serve as a primary source of news and professional education for over 21,000 CPAs working in Ohio’s leading businesses and public accounting firms.

 

Objective:

The program is designed to give students practical writing and communications experience, project management skills and strong portfolio materials.

 

OSCPA offers interns a fast-paced, professional environment and challenging work that includes writing for a variety of print, online and public relations projects.

 

Intern Learning Opportunities:

  • Interview members and author articles for the Society’s monthly business magazine and multiple e-newsletters.
  • Assist in creating targeted media campaigns for the public to promote financial education topics. Includes writing and distributing news releases and writing articles for the FinancialFitnessOhio.com consumer website.
  • Produce short video clips at Society events, interview speakers and members on camera.
  • Helping to plan and report on Society events.

 

Timeline:

The internship is available September – December with a possibility of extension. Beginning and ending dates are negotiable.

 

Location: Dublin, Ohio

Hours: Maximum 20 hours per week, flexible schedule

Pay scale: $10/hr

 

Requirements:

Candidates must be a junior or senior year communications student majoring in public relations, journalism, or a closely related major. Candidates should be able to demonstrate classroom or professional journalistic writing experience.

 

Students will be judged on personal communication and writing skills. Video production and social media experience helpful.

 

Only enthusiastic, self-starters need apply. We promise you will leave here with solid communications experience to your credit.

Qualifications:



All interested applicants should self-motivated, problem solving, and willing to work in a cohesive team environment.

Candidates must be a Communication major with some experience filming with basic video lighting and triangle

coverage, video editing software, audio-visual equipment, and online catalogue systems. Specifically, applicants should

have a basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, and Adobe

Speedgrade. Candidates should have a sincere interest in a career in the communication field, specifically video

production, video editing, and on-line media. General knowledge of the fitness industry is also a plus.


Compensation:



Successful candidates will receive hands on experience developing video projects, editing training compilations, and

assisting with interviews. Professional development and networking opportunities are available. Candidates will receive

Elitefts apparel and be permitted to train in the S4 compound. This is an unpaid internship. No monetary compensation

will be provided.


Career Advancement:



Individuals who complete a Video Production internship at Elitefts.com will gain the much needed professional

Purpose

Provide administrative and computer support to Volunteer Resources Office
Key Responsibilities
§  Assist with Volunteer Connection (personnel database) data entry
§  Assist with assemble projects such as mailings, welcome packets & orientation folders
§  Follow new volunteers through the intake process
§  Follow up with volunteers prior to and after classes/programs
