*Job ID:3000 *Job Title:Communications Intern Organization Name : Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services Foundation Contact: Melissa Dardinger, Otterbein Class of 1995 No of Openings:1 Hours per Week:15 Compensation Type:Unpaid Employment Start Date:Fall 2012 (opportunities available Fall 2012, Spring 2013 and Summer 2013) Travel Percentage: *Job Description:COMMUNICATIONS INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION With supervision and mentoring from the Director of Communications and Associate Vice President of Communications, the Communications Intern will assist with fundraising communications and marketing. Hours: Minimum 15 hours per week through semester. Prefer intern to commit at least three hour blocks of time in the office. Availability for more than one consecutive semester preferred. Compensation: Unpaid internship. Will work with intern to provide academic credit if applicable. Intern will have access to professional educational resources; develop a body of work including writing and design samples; work with print and design vendors; and gain experience publishing to company website and social media channels. Responsibilities: The Communications Intern will assist with writing, design, editing and general communications tasks as well as related administrative duties. Specific responsibilities may include: - Writing communications pieces including newsletter articles, donor testimonials, press releases, and blog/social media posts, and assisting with publication editing as requested. - Assisting with publication design, within corporate graphic standards and brand guidelines, and working with print and design vendors as needed. - Coordinating in-house printing projects including newsletters, mailings, invitations, and a variety of communications documents. - Maintaining and expanding the print archive for easy access. - Participating in monthly communications team meetings and corporate-wide PR Exchange meetings as available. - Assisting with administrative duties including stuffing envelopes, receiving/shipping materials, and other administrative functions as assigned. *Qualifications:Skills/Requirements Needed: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Creative, some graphic design experience helpful - Detail oriented - Proficient in Microsoft Office, and basic Adobe InDesign skills.
