*Job Description: General Duties
The American Heart Association seeks an enthusiastic and results-oriented Intern/Volunteer to work in our Go Red for Women segment of our organization. The successful Intern/Volunteer will work within the designated territory of American Heart Association Development staff members to gain knowledge of our mission and the business processes involved with Go Red for Women fundraising, marketing and administrative activities. We are in search of the ideal Intern/Volunteer who is interested in learning sales and event management skills from a leading not-for-profit national healthcare organization.

Duties:
•Will report directly to Go Red for Women Coordinator on progress of specific tasks and projects
•Will work closely with American Heart Association staff and volunteers on marketing and administrative activities surrounding the Columbus Go Red for Women Luncheon and events.
•Will help develop materials such as program booklet, signage, handouts, etc.
•Assist with organizing volunteers through recruitment, training and managing
•Manage website and data bases to ensure accurate and update information
•Will cultivate relationships between volunteers and the American Heart Association

*Qualifications: Specific Requirements:
Applicant must be:
•Available up to 15 hours per week from June 2012 through September 2012 or June 2013
•Enrolled in Bachelor’s program or have completed a bachelor’s program.
•Knowledgeable of the Microsoft office suite, and have general computer skills
•Available to travel within a 20 mile radius if needed.
•Willing to submit to a background check (& clean records on criminal, credit, and motor vehicle)
•Interested in the field of non-profit fundraising and development
•Able to lift 30 lbs.+
•Have access to his/her own automobile.
