Job Description: We have an incredible ministry and professional opportunity for a Media Relations Intern to provide media and promotional support for the Media and Community Relations team of Operation Christmas Child (OCC) in the Great Lakes Regional Office located in Xenia, OH. This is a paid, full-time, temporary position from July 23 to December 21. The Media Relations Intern will serve as the public relations coordinator for Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and West Virginia. Responsibilities include: customizing and writing press releases, media pitching, coordinating interviews, planning and executing special events, social media support, and providing general media and event support for national OCC promotion. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. All candidates must have two or more years of college experience, and Communications, Public Relations or Journalism majors are desired. Candidates must have media/public relations experience in written and verbal communications and must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel. Strong candidates will also adhere to the Samaritan’s Purse statement of faith and be committed to the mission and vision of Operation Christmas Child. Domestic travel is required.
