*Job Description:
About this internship: External Communications resides within the Company Affairs function at Limited Brands. In this internship role, the candidate will primarily be a social media resource for External Communications by monitoring online conversation about the business. Additionally, there will be occasional projects and/or events within External Communications as well as other areas of Company Affairs (i.e. Community Relations, Government Affairs and Investor Relations) with which he/she will be involved. General responsibilities: Ø Monitor blogs, message boards, etc. for Limited Brands related issues, anticipated issues or trends via the Radian 6 tool Ø Using the findings from daily monitoring, compile and distribute an issues-based monitoring report two times/week Ø Support the Limited Brands Twitter account by collecting data, drafting tweets and monitoring any discussion that may take place as a result of our posts Ø Answer the Limited Brands media line and coordinate with the External Communications team to deliver a timely and informative response Ø Manage and maintain the Limited Brands External Communications mailbox (a channel for all external stakeholders to inquire about media issues) Ø Draft and edit press releases regarding personnel and community activities Ø Periodically pitch community-related achievements or events to local media Ø Attend and participate in appropriate team and function meetings Compensation: This internship is a paid position. Specific compensation will be discussed at the time of hire. Hours, etc.: We require that the External Communications intern must work 40 hours/week. We hire interns for approximately three-month increments
*Qualifications:
Candidate qualifications Ø Junior or Senior level student majoring in public relations, marketing, communications or related coursework Ø Past internship experience in a communications-related role Ø Significant knowledge/understanding of social media platforms, vehicles and trends Ø Strong written and verbal skills ONLY students enrolled in school through summer 2012 will be considered.
