The AHA Intern will be responsible for assisting permanent staff with the logistical aspects of the 2012 My Heart. My Life. campaign and Heart Walk. These responsibilities are related primarily to event planning, social media and various administrative duties. This internship gives great experience working with a highly regarded non-profit organization.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: implementing and monitoring social media (primarily Facebook and Twitter), planning kick offs, soliciting in-kind donations/participant prizes, recruiting volunteers, coordinating healthy food options for event participants, preparing signage, scripting and email campaigns. Responsibilities will also include updating weekly reports for director’s field travel and misc. duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Looking for someone with a friendly personality, positive attitude, can work in a team or as an individual, be organized, flexible and resourceful, detail oriented, creative and trustworthy. Be able to work with Microsoft Office 2007.
