Are you in the market to gain solid writing and real-world communications experience? The Ohio Society of CPAs, a nationally recognized professional organization serving certified public accountants, is accepting resumes for a paid internship of up to 20 hours per week.

 

We serve as a primary source of news and professional education for over 21,000 CPAs working in Ohio’s leading businesses and public accounting firms.

 

Objective:

The program is designed to give students practical writing and communications experience, project management skills and strong portfolio materials.

 

OSCPA offers interns a fast-paced, professional environment and challenging work that includes writing for a variety of print, online and public relations projects.

 

Intern Learning Opportunities:

• Interview members and author articles for the Society’s monthly business magazine and multiple e-newsletters.
• Assist in creating targeted media campaigns for the public to promote financial education topics. Includes writing and distributing news releases and writing articles for the FinancialFitnessOhio.com consumer website.
• Produce short video clips at Society events, interview speakers and members on camera.
• Helping to plan and report on Society events.

 

Timeline:

The internship is available September – December with a possibility of extension. Beginning and ending dates are negotiable.

 

Location: Dublin, Ohio

Hours: Maximum 20 hours per week, flexible schedule

Pay scale: $10/hr

 

Requirements:

Candidates must be a junior or senior year communications student majoring in public relations, journalism, or a closely related major. Candidates should be able to demonstrate classroom or professional journalistic writing experience.

 

Students will be judged on personal communication and writing skills. Video production and social media experience helpful.
