The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio Internship Descriptions for
Otterbein University 2012
Communications intern:
Are you a budding feminist with a voice which is ready to be shared with the world? The
Women’s Fund of Central Ohio is looking for an intern with incredible insight into our society,
a person who realizes that gender powerfully affects our experience and can communicate
through that gendered lens. If you are dedicated, innovative, creative, and can adapt to all
styles of writing, this could be the perfect position for you. You may be asked to write anything—
eblasts, press releases, blogs, Facebook statuses, tweets, or video scripts. Interns at The
Fund gain experience in a wide variety of activities and are extremely valued in our office. Since
there is so much variety, we are looking for someone with excellent organizational skills, who is
flexible, thinks proactively, has strong written and verbal skills and a keen eye for editing. If this
sounds like you, The Fund is just the place to get started.
Development Intern:
Good with numbers and spreadsheets? We are looking for a dedicated, reliable intern who is
great with details, but can also see the big picture to help with development at The Women’s
Fund. This means you would assist our Philanthropy Manager in creating sponsorship
proposals, writing fundraising letters, tracking and managing individual donations and corporate
sponsorships. This work requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience in (or ability to
learn) Microsoft Access, as well as excellent organizational skills. The work never stops in this
office, so if you are ready for a fun, fast paced environment serving as the development intern at
The Fund is a perfect fit.
