Engauge (formerly TenUnited) is looking for someone who would describe himself or herself as a self-starter, strategic thinker, willing to help out where needed and interested in the consumer behavior aspect of advertising.

Job Description:
The behavioral insights intern will assist the Behavioral Insights Group in the following areas:

Preparing materials for research projects. Often, we send out ‘homework assignments’ to respondents to complete prior to their scheduled participation in a research project. The strategy intern will be responsible for organizing, developing and assembling these materials. This may also include preparing any materials that we are going to be testing with respondents.

Conducting secondary research on a project basis. This may include gathering trends on a particular category, doing a competitive analysis of the category, looking at marketing strategies for key players in the category, uncovering key insights (demographics, behaviors, needs and wants, etc.) into the targeted consumer, researching background of a company and uncovering the equity of the brand, as well as opportunities for the brand.

Attend and participate in ethnographic interviews. This includes going to in-home interviews with trained qualitative researchers from Engauge. Participation in the research interviews may include video taping the interview, taking notes on key areas of discovery and being actively involved with the moderating at the time of the interview.

Analyze ethnographic research projects. This includes reviewing and transcribing the taped interviews, pulling out key consumer insights to help mold our strategy for client presentations and getting the video portion of the presentation ready.

Update Pop Culture Wall. This wall is updated weekly and highlights trends in general pop culture as well as trends specific to our clients. The strategy intern will be assigned an area and responsible for the weekly update.

To be considered, applicants should be at least junior status, have reliable transportation and must be able to work at least 15 hours a week.
