*Job Description:Responsibilities for Women’s Caucus Fellow:

The Ohio Democratic Party’s Women’s Caucus seeks Caucus Fellow(s) t to assist with key programmatic and communications functions of the Women’s Caucus.
The Ohio Democratic Party is currently the only state Democratic party in the country with a full-time Women’s Caucus Director. For the right candidate, this position is an excellent opportunity to be a voice on women’s issues, involve more women in the political process, and mobilize women to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in 2014. This is a part-time, unpaid internship which will require 2-3 days weekly.

Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication;
• Familiar with the full suite of MS Office tools, particularly Excel – including mail merging documents;
• Some experience with campaign tools such as the Voter File or NGP preferred;
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
• Demonstrated commitment to Democratic principles.

• Communications (35%)
o Updating Women’s Caucus email list
o Updating Women’s Caucus facebook, twitter and other social media as necessary
o Collecting materials for and preparing pieces of Women’s Caucus WOW newsletters
o Maintaining calendar of women’s events around the state
o Communicating with ODP staff, campaign staff, and candidates as needed

• ODWC Administration (25%)
o Maintaining accurate records
o Phone calls
o Additional follow-up as needed

• Program (15%)
o Assisting on programs, events, training, etc. as needed
o Working with Program Committee on upcoming events
o Attending meetings and other events as needed

• Fundraising & Events (15%)
o Event logistics assist with the following: preparing and sending invitations, tracking RSVP’s, etc.)
o Preparing registration materials, lead or assist with registration at events
o Processing and tracking women’s caucus contributions
o Maintaining an updated list of event locations and contact information

• Chapter Development (10%)
o Updating list of Women’s Caucus chapters
o Tracking communications with chapters
o Plugging activists in with their local caucus chapter

• Candidates & Elected Officials (as needed)
o Maintaining list of women candidates & electeds
o Assisting with providing information to or soliciting information from candidates / electeds as needed
