Public Relations Internship Job Description

Ashland offers a public relations intern position to junior or senior level university students to work within Ashland’s Communications and Corporate Affairs organization. The selected intern will help plan, create and implement communications activities that support Ashland business groups, plan and help implement media relations activities, write news releases and other related materials, monitor trade publications, assist in communications research activities, and other duties as assigned.
The internship is a paid position for 10 – 12 weeks and will be located in Ashland’s Dublin, Ohio, facilities.

Skills and Experience *Pursuing BA/BS degree in public relations or related field required
*Proven experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint*Ambitious, skilled, resourceful and creative
*Effective written and verbal communication skills required*Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented*Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
*Understands different styles of writing, and familiar with Associated Press style
