UPPER ARLINGTON/SHOPS ON LANE: Marketing/PR/Event Planning

Ramco-Gershenson, Inc. is a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust company.  Ramco owns and manages large, multi-anchor shopping centers throughout several metropolitan markets in the United States.

We are currently in need of a Marketing Intern at one of our centers, Shops on Lane, in Upper Arlington, OH. This position is ideal for a student who is majoring in marketing. The position is paid and is part time (about 20 hours per week) and we are willing to be flexible and work with student’s schedules. This student would be needed from 3/1 through 5/2.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone to get “real world” experience and mentorship.

In collaboration with the Property Manager and the Marketing Department, the Marketing Intern’s role is to assist in the marketing, advertising, public relations and special event planning at our Shops on Lane center in Upper Arlington, OH.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and implementation of signature events at the center. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinating details with vendors
• Educating tenants about events and encouraging participation
• Securing entertainment and giveaways
• Coordinating event décor and printing of signage
• Setting up event space and tearing down after event
• Monitoring website and Facebook content for event detail accuracy
Assist in the development of advertising and collateral pieces. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Providing relevant event and promotion information to the Marketing Department for advertising pieces
• Proofing ads and graphics throughout the collateral design process to ensure event detail accuracy
Assist in the development and implementation of a tenant relations program that includes, but is not limited to:
• Regular tenant memos and newsletters
• Personal calls and visits to encourage event participation and solicit event feedback
Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of marketing activities in terms of sales results, consumer response, tenant success and community support.
Other Duties as assigned. *Qualifications:Ideal candidate will currently be enrolled in college, majoring in marketing, advertising, or public relations or has previous experience in one of these areas.

Flexibility in working hours - some evenings and weekends are required

Excellent organizational skills and ability/desire to complete tasks that are very diverse.

Excellent communication skills (verbal, written etc)

Ability to walk, lift, push and stand for several hours at a time
