Position Summary: To help coordinate and manage various aspects of planning, marketing/promotions, and event planning Primary Responsibilities: • Clerical Support: Assist with the development, coordination and execution of mailings; making copies; and answering general questions from phone and email inquiries • Marketing and Promotions: Assist in locating advertising opportunities such as magazines, newspapers, and mailing lists for consumer contacts. Internet, library and in-house research may be necessary. Collate materials for press kits for mailings or email distribution • Event and Meeting Planning: Assist with the planning and coordination of meetings and events including book release parties and promotional events • Data Management: Handle, enter and manage data and other information with strict confidentiality • Distribution: Assist with the distribution of books to designated outlets and individual contacts to build awareness • Status Reports: Participate in weekly status report calls and/or planning meetings with the assigned supervisor • Other related duties that will be agreed to with the assigned supervisor |

*Qualifications:

Required Experience and Skills:
- 1-2 years event planning and/or project management experience - Excellent organizational skills - Detail oriented and the ability to handle multiple tasks. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access - Possess a confident yet pleasant manner when dealing with people at all levels. - Self-starter - Strong passion about women and girl’s empowerment issues Additional Requirements: This position requires an individual to work independently and out of their own office or home. A personal computer and internet access is required. 2-3 references are required |
