Internship position responsibilities: This candidate will assist the media relations
team. Duties include helping the media relations team gain television and online
coverage for multimedia news releases. Participating in internal team meetings.
Researching for projects, news releases and fact sheets. Assisting in development of
our proprietary TV media database with custom media lists, editorial calendars and
media results reports. Participation in distribution of multimedia tapes and postings to
social media sites. Support role for booking media appearances for television and radio
locally and nationally. A combination of creative outreach, media research and
administrative and office support.
Qualifications needed: Educational experience in public relations/news/social media.
Excellent organizational and time management skills. Trustworthy- media relations
interns may work on projects that have strict embargo dates or proprietary contacts.
Ability to work on various phases of multiple projects at the same time. Proficient in
Mac-based programs. Good online research skills. Self motivated and able to work and
meet deadlines in team and individual settings. Ability to adapt and work under
deadline. Results oriented. Excellent communication skills. Comfortable in casual,
smaller office environment.
Work hours: Negotiable
