Web Operations Internship - Columbus Crew (Columbus, OH)
The Columbus Crew is currently recruiting a Website/Digital Operations Intern. This position is an integral part of the Marketing & Promotions Department, and focuses on executing interactive strategies, maximizing current digital assets, and creating new initiatives. This position also functions in a service role for all internal departments to execute various digital support needs. The Website/Digital Operations Intern will report directly to the Digital Content Editor, and will work closely with the Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Director of Marketing & Promotions, Advertising & Promotions Manager and Fan Development Coordinator.The Website/Digital Operations Intern will get hands-on experience how the digital marketing function and operates at a professional sports team. This position includes responsibilities in updating and creating various website elements, and engaging with fans on social media platforms.
Responsibilities:• Moderating and Updating Crew Social Media Sites• Monitors, updates and participates in team’s social networking sites, including (but not limited to): Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Foursquare and YouTube• Offers suggestions to better engage, educate and build a larger community• Assists in the measurement of social media effectiveness and overall value• Creating and Updating Pages on Main Websites• Assists in the creation and updating of basic web pages on TheCrew.com and CrewStadium.com• Graphic Editing• Helps edit, resize and publish web graphics, including game and event photo galleries
Requirements:
• College student with study emphasis in Sports Management, Marketing, Web Design or other computer related degree.• Must have excellent computer skills, including knowledge of basic HTML, video editing and Adobe Photoshop. Should also be very familiar with social media sites and newest technology on the web. Understands the basic premise of social media as a marketing tool.• Must have excellent writing skills to be able to contribute to the website, social media space, video scripts and other writing assignments. • Excellent communications skills as well as the ability to be creative and find new avenues to promote the Crew brand.• Must be organized and pay strong attention to detail. Must be reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently and during unique hours.• Maturity, professionalism, creativity and a strong work ethic are essential.• Must be available for all Crew home games and other dates as needed.
