Office of Admission
Fall Quarter Internship
Fact Sheet
• Full-time position as a staff member in the Office of Admission
• Three month position; begins in August and ends at the conclusion of fall quarter..
• Job title: Admission Counselor Intern.
• Travel to various locations in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan on a weekly basis
- usually departing on a Sunday or Monday and returning on Thursday or Friday.
• Represent Otterbein during high school visits and college fairs.
• Conduct on-campus interviews with prospective students and their parents
• Assist with fall visitation days for prospective students
• Membership in Ohio Association of College Admission Counseling and the ACT Speakers Bureau.

( • Paid stipend of $3,500 for three months of work.

Job Challenges
• Although you will encounter high school students and counselors as well as other admission
counselors on a day-to-day basis, you travel and stay alone at hotels during the week.
• Public speaking is also another responsibility that is expected of the intern You must be
comfortable speaking with both small and large groups of people
• Navigation) If you have a good sense of direction, it's a lot easier to find the high schools)
