The Ohio State University Center for Clinical and Translational Science is looking for three media interns to help in the content development for its public website.
The first position will be a writing/journalism position that will help to develop written content for the website under the direction of the CCTS Website Content Manager. As a Writing / Journalism Intern you will learn about creating relevant content for the CCTS website (http://ccts.osu.edu). Working with the CCTS team, you will learn about content integration for online publication, content that drives web traffic and developing content for a large research-based organization. This internship will be what you make it, and can be a great resume builder. The right candidate will have initiative and want to learn. Aspiring writers and journalism majors will leave this internship with portfolio ready work. The current CCTS Website Content Manager will be available for training and support until the end of the term.
Desired Qualifications for writing/journalism position:
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Comfortable with technology and computer applications
· Ability to work in a large organization and take direction from multiple sources
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Highly self-motivated
· Good networking and interviewing skills
· Previous experience writing for a publication preferred (especially writing news and feature stories)
· Able to set goals, create clear statements of purpose, and communicate those goals and purposes to others
