The Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) public affairs department is offering a paid internship, January – June 2015. The internship may be extended through the summer. The intern work hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, with a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. OHA will consider alternative schedules based on qualified candidate’s needs. This position is compensated $15.00 per hour with no benefits.
Candidates should be a university or college student (junior or senior level) or a recent graduate possessing strong communication, social media management, and project management skills. Students majoring in public relations, journalism, and communication are encouraged to apply. Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook) is a must. Proficiency with graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign) is encouraged, but not a requirement. Applicants should be familiar with web design software or content management systems and have strong, independent research abilities.
Internship responsibilities include writing and editing newsletters, news releases and publications. Interns will also be responsible for assisting with the management of OHA’s web site content, social media networks (Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn) and special projects including OHA’s Annual Awards Dinner. Interns will also support the Association’s photography efforts.
