Internship Program
With its cutting edge technology and
professional staff, the Dispatch Broadcast Group serves as a training ground
for the development of new talent entering the broadcasting job market. Through our internship program, today’s sharpest
minds are involved first hand with the many diverse jobs and responsibilities
associated with the day-to-day operation of broadcast facilities. Many first time broadcasters began their
careers through experience and contacts made during internships.
Eligibility
requirements for all Dispatch Broadcast Group internships include enrollment at
the junior or senior level and receipt of course credit based on participation
in an unpaid internship program.

Digital
Media News Intern – WBNS-10TV
WBNS-10TV’s
Digital Media department seeks a highly motivated intern to assist with web
projects including creation of the daily web quiz, creation of interactive
material for the health, political and weather sections. Additional projects include research for the
back to school, holidays and sports sections.
IT
Intern – WBNS-10TV
WBNS-10TV
is seeking an IT Intern who is interested in television technology. This
internship will provide an opportunity to assist in .NET and PHP software
development projects, software testing, computer hardware and software support,
cabling of network infrastructure and hardware asset and software license
tracking. Requirements include course
work in computer science or electrical engineering, knowledge of Windows
Operating System and general knowledge of computer programming languages.
News
Intern – WBNS-10TV
WBNS-10TV’s
News department offers internship opportunities for highly motivated college
level juniors and seniors. The news
interns participate in the daily editorial meetings, shadow reporters,
participate in interviews and research story material. The news departments work closely with
interns to provide direction and feedback.
Sales
Intern – WBNS-10TV
WBNS-10TV’s
sales interns gain an understanding of television advertising sales by
shadowing account executives, participating in sales meetings and reviewing
market research. The successful intern
candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, a high
level of initiative and be familiar with Microsoft Office suite.
Sports
Intern – WBNS-10TV
WBNS-10TV Sports
interns gain experience through logging sporting events both in person and on
television; participating in Wall to Wall Sports; learning to edit on Grass
Valley NewsEdit software; learning all aspects of putting together a
sportscast; covering the OSU football and high school football; and maintenance
of sports video archiving system. The
WBNS sports staff works closely with the student in every area (on-air,
production, photography, editing, etc.) to give a well-rounded experience. The
student will also receive feedback through evaluations and through interaction
with all members of the sports department.
Weather
Intern – WBNS-10TV

seeks a weather intern. 10TV’s weather
interns gain experience through assisting meteorologists with forecasting,
building weather graphics and answering viewer calls. Interested students must be enrolled in a
meteorology-related program.
Sales
Intern – RadiOhio
WBNS-10TV’s
sales interns gain an understanding of television advertising sales by

The Fan
The Fan’s
Programming interns develop an understanding of sports radio programming
through shadowing sports update anchors and producers. The Fan’s interns gain
an understanding of writing sports copy, digital editing of audio and the
programming department’s digital media perspective.
Promotions
Intern – The Fan
The
Fan is seeking promotions interns for the fall.
Promotions interns are exposed to all areas of the station and assist in
planning and executing promotional events.
